The Historic Motor Cycle Club of Queensland (HMCCQ) is an enthusiasts' Club of more than 1200 members who take pride in keeping old motorcycles on the road. The Club was originally formed in September 1970 and now comprises the following 15 Areas across Queensland: Brisbane, Burnett, Childers, Dalby, Fraser Coast, Gladstone, Gympie, Ipswich, Kingaroy, Pine Rivers, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Tamborine Mountain, Toowoomba and Warwick; and a Subcommittee focused on the Indian marque.
The Club has thrived for almost 50 years, which in no small part has been due to the dedication of those members who have served on the Management Committee. The Honour Board of the those who have kept the Club functioning for all those years is available here.
The objectives of the HMCCQ are to:
Encourage proper restoration and preservation of the following classes of motorcycles: Veteran, Vintage, Post Vintage, Post War and Historic - the Dating page provides definitions on the listed classes.
Actively engage in rallies, exhibitions and other events suitable for these machines.
Offer the services of the Club, its members and vehicles to such charitable organisations as may be decided upon from time to time.
Encourage the retention of the above classes of motorcycles in Queensland, and to extend club membership.
Encourage participation in such activities, associated or allied with all or any of the above objectives, which are intended to promote a better and wider knowledge and understanding of motorcycles among club members and the public generally.
Membership of the HMCCQ is open to all who have interest in owning, restoring and/or riding historic motorcycles.
Further information on new memberships and detailed application instructions are included
with the Membership Application Form. These should read carefully before submitting the application to the Membership Secertary.
Membership renewals are due on the 1st of November each year.
